The BONDay event, held at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Convention Centre (ICC) in Durban, preceded the ATI, which took place from May 14 to 16. Young Travellers Share Their Success Stories
At the “Future of Travel Through the Eyes of the Youth” session, three young travellers shared how they have converted their hobby of travelling into thriving businesses while exploring the continent. Acacia Denison and Michael Monk, of Yeti the Van, have visited over 100 campsites in South Africa, generating income through brand placement. Katchie Nzama, a solo traveller, has visited 35 African countries creates digital content and writes about her experiences.

In a discussion titled “Airlift Advancements in Africa,” Hamish Erskine, CEO of Dube TradePort, emphasized the importance of prioritizing cargo transport to sustain operational growth. Mpumi Mpofu, CEO of Airports Company South Africa, highlighted the significance of intra-African tourism and the need for robust travel networks within the continent.
