In a landmark event at the KAZA Heads of State Summit in Livingstone, Zambia, the Kavango Zambezi (KAZA) Transfrontier Conservation Area (TFCA) has launched its new destination brand, “Rivers of Life”. This transformative brand marks a significant milestone in the region’s journey towards conservation, sustainable tourism, and community empowerment.
A Unique Value Proposition
The “Rivers of Life” brand embodies the region’s rich biodiversity, iconic wildlife, vibrant cultures, and life-giving rivers. Developed by The Journey Tourism Consultant and Management, the brand offers a unique value proposition: a chance to experience the natural and cultural diversity of the Kavango Zambezi eco-region.
A Brand Forged Through Collaboration
The development of the brand has been an inclusive and participatory process, involving stakeholders from all five partner countries – Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. The brand launch event was attended by high-level leadership representatives, tourism industry stakeholders, conservation organizations, donor agencies, and local community representatives.
A Bold Vision for the Future
The new brand represents a bold vision for the future: to establish Kavango Zambezi as a well-known and valued tourism destination, promoted by the tourism trade and appreciated by local stakeholders who benefit from both conservation and tourism.
Next Steps
In the coming months, the “Rivers of Life” brand will be rolled out across various platforms. The KAZA Secretariat will work closely with partner organizations to integrate the new brand into their communications and marketing efforts, ensuring a coordinated and impactful brand presence.
A New Chapter Begins
With its new brand, KAZA TFCA embarks on a new chapter, committed to its core values of conservation, cooperation, and community empowerment. The organization demonstrates that thriving wildlife, resilient communities, and responsible tourism can coexist in harmony, making it a leading model for sustainable development in Africa.
